A Metamaterial Absorber Based on Particle Swarm Optimization Suitable for Earth’s Atmospheric Transparency Window

The absorption and reflection of electromagnetic waves by various particles in the earth’s atmosphere allow passage only certain wavelengths to reach ground, called Earth’s transparent window. In this study, perfect was theoretically obtained range near- mid-infrared atmospheric transparency window using a simple absorber with metal-dielectric-metal structure. numerical simulations showed average 96.2% at from 2000 6000 nm. Also, broadband noticed attributed combined physical mechanisms, such as anti-reflection effect, localized surface plasmon polariton, propagating polarization, Fabry–Pérot cavity slow light mode. Meanwhile, proposed displayed simple-structure, low-cost, wide-angle, polarization-independent. sum, might be useful for future applications related window, remote sensing, energy harvesting, infrared detection, stray elimination.
